So, Miss Emmie (along with a million other little girls this year) wanted to be Elsa, I told her that she would be in the same costume as a lot of people, but alas the Frozen heart wants, what the Frozen heart wants!
I made the dress out of a blue poly satin for the skirt, and I used my embroidery machine to put snowflakes on the hem, (and I used a snow flake stamp, and glitter for the hem too, but it didn’t really pick up in the pictures.)
I used a sheer knit with glitter swirls on the top, with a silver fold over elastic around the neck and sleeves.
The bodice is a damask with a sheer overlay, and hot fix crystals with glitter.
The cape is a snowflake net I found here in Korea, it was just too perfect to not use!
My mom brought me white spray for Emmie’s hair, and we did her makeup in cool blue and silver colors. It was so funny getting contacts in her eyes, I kept telling her to just wear glasses, but she was determined 🙂 I had her against a wall just to get her to not back away from me while they went in 🙂
I had some zip issues with her dress, so the zip is actually a separating zip that went in upside-down.
Anyway, sorry for the bad indoor pictures, but it was too wet to do anything outside!
You forgot to mention the *PERFECT* Elsa shoes!! This outfit is absolutely gorgeous, and Emmie made the most fabulous ‘Elsa’. I love the way she gets into her roles when she dresses up 🙂
You are so talented, Cath!
Yes, that snowflake net fabric you found is perfect! I really like how it looks with the silver fold over elastic. And bravo for making it work with the upside down separating zipper! She has nice long hair to pull off the that Elsa braid!
