Paul got excited a couple of weeks ago, because he found a stitched hat, that he thought would be perfect for a Woody costume, so of course I had to make him one (It’s not often that he’s the excited one that comes up with a plan!)
I made Paul’s yellow shirt out of just a plain yellow cotton fabric that I drew the red lines on with a permanent marker.
When my mom came out to visit, she brought me the cow print fabric I needed for the vest. I piped the edges and whip stitched in black over the piping. The pull cord on the back is a wood bracelet blank that I painted white, and tied on with a rope.
The boots, jeans, belt, and bandanna, were already Paul’s I just ordered the spurs and the badge off of Amazon. (The snake is Isaac’s)
He was the cutest Woody ever 🙂 I love the big white plastic buttons, and how he is the perfect tall skinny guy to be Woody.
Of course, because Paul was Woody, I had to be Bo Peep! I didn’t have the time to make a structured dress for myself, so I made a comfy knit version instead.
I made the top out of a blue and pink knit, with a stretch lace, and thin elastic as the lacing on the front.
The skirt is screen printed with the big polka-dots, and I used some left over lace from another project for the skirt peplum. It was white, but I dyed it in an acid dye (which will dye nylon) and got a bright pink.
The bloomers were from a sheep fabric, I found at Happy Quilt.
They only poked out a bit, but I loved them anyway 🙂
The bonnet was a Korean Ajumma hat that I added a fabric back onto, and the cane was off of Amazon.
It was so fun being Bo Peep to Paul’s Woody, and I suspect we will be pulling these out for years to come 🙂
